21/08/2020 – 6th Advisory Board Meeting

On Friday 21st August 2020 the Advisory Board met virtually to plan events going forward for 2020/2021 and to re-evaluate the events that we have been running virtually throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

We discussed the guest lecture series and how well it’s been working.  As this will finish in October, we discussed plans for a winter seminar series 2020/2021 and will also do some data sharing events (Nailed it to Failed it) with Patterns and PSDS (Physical Sciences Data – Science Service) starting in October.  There was also discussion around how to be more visible on social media and to make better use of our YouTube channel.

It was agreed the AI3SD Network + would put together a case for a 9 month extension due to the ongoing pandemic restricting some of the plans for the Network+, and hopefully be able to run some more face to face events again from Spring 2021.

The Network+ Advisory Board is chaired by Professor John Overington of the Medicines Catapult and is currently comprised of 13 highly experienced individuals from both industry and academia, with a wide range of relevant skills to our Network+. The purpose of the Network+ Advisory Board (AB) is to provide advice on the conduct and content of the AI3SD Network+. This encompasses helping to identify major streams of research for the network and to both commission and assess research proposals. Details on the Advisory Board members can be found on our Advisory Board Page.
